The ENGWE O20 Boost folds, runs 75 Nm through a torque sensor on LG 21700 cells, and fills in 3.5 hours, at £969 from £1,199.

A four amp charger is why it fills so fast
Seven hundred and twenty watt hours in three and a half hours, because ENGWE fit a four amp charger rather than the usual two.
That is the difference between a bike you charge overnight and one you can put most of a charge into while you have lunch. On a folding bike that may be doing two trips a day, it changes what the range means.
ENGWE publish the range at each assist level
Not one headline figure, but three real ones:
- 141 km at assist level one
- 108 km at level three
- 80 km at level five
Level three is how most people actually ride. Publishing all three is a maker who expects you to check, and it is far more use than a single number measured at the setting nobody uses.
A torque sensor and 75 newton metres
A torque sensor measures how hard you press and scales the motor to match, rather than switching on a beat after the pedals start turning.
Seventy five newton metres is strong for a 250W motor. On a fifty eight pound folding bike, the pair of them is what makes it feel like a bicycle you have got stronger on rather than a machine you are operating.
K-Mark lights, and Find My
The lights are K-Mark certified at 40 lux, which is the German road standard rather than a generic LED. That is a light to ride by rather than to be seen by.
The bike is also compatible with Find My on iOS and Android, so it shows up on a phone the way a set of keys does. On a folding bike that spends time in bike racks and train luggage areas, that is worth more than another specification line.
Water ratings, stated part by part
IPX7 on the wiring, IPX6 on the display and lights, IPX5 on the motor and controller.
Most makers quote one number for the whole bike or none. Rating each part separately is a maker who tested them separately, and it tells you which part to worry about in a downpour.
Eight gears, a lockout fork, and anti-puncture tyres
A Shimano Altus eight speed with a 13 to 28 tooth cassette, a hydraulic fork with adjustable lockout and 50 mm of travel, and 20 by 2.125 anti-puncture urban hybrid tyres.
Eight ratios rather than seven matters above 15.5 mph where the motor has stopped helping. The lockout means the fork stops absorbing your pedalling on smooth ground.
Step-through, folding, and 330 pounds
A 44 cm standover on a folding frame rated to a hundred and fifty kilograms, with a rear rack good for 15 kg.
Folded to 88 by 52.5 by 85 centimetres. Measure the boot before you order; that is what a published folded size is for.

- Set the saddle between 82 cm and 100 cm using the ten level post
- Try the fork lockout both ways so you know which is which
- Bed the dual-piston hydraulic brakes in at walking pace

Who it is for
ENGWE size it for riders between 155 cm and 190 cm. At fifty eight pounds it is a bike you wheel and lift with two hands rather than carry far.

- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
