Nine modes at the front, four at the back, a handlebar mount, and an IP65 rating, which means dust-tight and able to take a jet of water. Rain is not a consideration with these.
What the law actually requires in the UK
This is the part worth reading, because most light sets are sold without it and the rules are specific.
- Between sunset and sunrise you must show a white lamp at the front and a red lamp at the rear
- You must also carry a red rear reflector, and amber pedal reflectors on a bike made after 1985
- Flashing lamps have been legal since 2005, between half and four flashes a second
- A flashing lamp on its own is legal only if it flashes at that rate, so a steady lamp plus a flasher is the safe combination
A light set is not a reflector. Check your bike still has its rear reflector and its pedal reflectors before you rely on lamps alone.
3300 lumens is more light than a road needs, and that is a responsibility
This is a high output lamp. Aimed level, it will dazzle an oncoming cyclist or driver, and a dazzled driver is a worse outcome than a dim light.
Angle it down so the bright part of the beam lands about five to ten metres ahead of your front wheel. On a lit street, use a middle mode. Save the top setting for an unlit lane, which is where 3300 lumens and a 300 metre reach are genuinely useful and where nothing is coming the other way.
Runtime, and how to read the maker's figures
Six and a half hours on high and eighteen on low is the claim, from a 5000 mAh cell.
Expect less in winter: a lithium cell gives up capacity in the cold, and so does a bike battery, which is why both of your batteries look worse in January. The screen on the lamp shows the charge left as a percentage, which is the feature that stops this mattering, because you can see it coming instead of being surprised on the way home.
An aluminium body on an e-bike
Aluminium sheds heat, and heat is what kills a high-output LED. A plastic lamp at this brightness either throttles itself after a few minutes or cooks its own emitter.
It also means the lamp survives the thing that actually breaks bike lights, which is being knocked off the bars and landing on the pavement. At 350 g for the pair, it is a little heavier than a plastic set, for a reason.
Who it is for
It is for the commute that runs past sunset for half the year, and for anyone riding unlit lanes. On a 25 to 39 kg e-bike that holds 15.5 mph without effort, you cover ground faster than an unassisted bike and you want to see further ahead than one.
It is not for a rider who only ever goes out in daylight, and it is more lamp than a lit city centre needs on its brightest setting. Buy it for the dark half of the ride, and use a lower mode for the rest.

- Can I return my electric bike?
- Yes. You can ride the bike and still return it. Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we book the courier and collect it from your door. Contact us first and we will guide you through the process.
- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
