Most electric cargo bikes carry between 100 kg and 200 kg including the rider, depending on the model and frame. The motor assist makes carrying heavy loads easy. Each product page lists the maximum load capacity.
For families, commuters and small businesses, electric cargo bikes are often well worth it, they replace car trips for the school run, shopping and deliveries, saving money and fuel while being far more practical than a standard bike.
Not all of them. An electric cargo bike is road legal in the UK when it meets the EAPC rules (a motor of up to 250W, assistance up to 15.5 mph, a rider aged 14 or over). Several of our cargo bikes have more powerful motors and are for private land only. Every product page states which applies.
