How to Choose Your Electric Bike

Everything you need to pick the right e-bike for the way you ride.

1

Who Varun Are

Varun is a value-focused electric bike maker best known for chunky fat-tyre and utility e-bikes that shrug off gravel, trails, sand and rough city roads. 0-inch fat tyres, removable 48V batteries and 250W motors with a rugged, adventure-ready look.

Models sold here are supplied UK road-legal, so you get all-terrain grip and everyday practicality without paying premium-brand prices.

2

Popular Models and Who They Suit

0-inch tyres and full suspension, suit riders who want stable comfort across trails, beaches and potholed streets, much like electric mountain bikes. Compact 16 and 20-inch fat models such as the PLORER and C20 fold down for flat, boot and commuter storage.

If you want easy transport, browse our folding electric bikes and everyday city electric bikes.

3

What to Look For When Buying

5 mph so no licence, tax or insurance is needed. 8Ah up to 18Ah, giving roughly 45 to 150km depending on model and terrain.

Decide whether you need a folding frame, then confirm lights, indicators and mudguards for road-legal, all-weather riding.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions riders ask us most.

Yes. The Varun e-bikes we sell are supplied as EAPC-compliant electrically assisted pedal cycles, with a 250W motor and pedal assistance that cuts off at 15.5 mph (25 km/h). Ridden this way they count as bicycles, so you need no licence, tax, insurance or registration if you are 14 or over.

Varun sits in the affordable end of the market, with most models falling between roughly £700 and £1,500 in the UK. Compact folding and smaller fat-tyre bikes tend to be cheapest, while full-suspension 26-inch fat-tyre models with larger batteries cost more.

Varun offers a lot of specification for the money, with fat tyres, full suspension, removable batteries and LCD displays on many models. They are best judged as capable value bikes rather than premium machines, and buying from a UK dealer like BikTron means proper support, spares and road-legal setup.

Several Varun models, including 16 and 20-inch fat-tyre versions, fold for storage and transport, while the larger 26-inch bikes do not. Expect a 250W motor across the range and real-world range of around 45 to 150km depending on battery size (48V 7.8Ah up to 18Ah), rider weight, terrain and assist level.

BikTron sells Varun e-bikes with a manufacturer-backed warranty and UK-based aftercare, so you deal with a local retailer rather than an overseas seller. Orders ship with UK delivery, and our team can help with setup, spares and any road-legal or servicing questions.
