Ninety nine miles is a long claim, and here is how to read it
Eighteen amp hours at 48 volts is roughly 864 watt hours, which is a genuinely large pack and larger than sixty eight per cent of what we sell.
A figure like this is measured at the lowest assist level on flat ground with a light rider. It is not a lie, it is a ceiling. The panel below turns the capacity into energy per mile and gives you eco, mixed and full assist bands, and the mixed one is what to plan a week around.
Eighty newton metres inside the law
Strong for a 250W motor and a good deal more than the forty many legal bikes manage.
Torque is what pulls you away from a standstill and up a hill with a load. On an eighty four pound fat tyre bike it is the difference between a motor that helps and one that apologises.

Mechanical disc brakes
Cable operated rather than hydraulic. They hold their bite in the wet where rim brakes surrender, and one Allen key adjusts them with pads costing a few pounds from any shop.
On a heavy bike capped at 15.5 mph they are adequate. On a long descent with a load, hydraulics would be better, and that is the honest place the money was saved.

- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
