Twenty five amp hours on a fifty four pound frame
The Allegro TDL6131 carries a 25Ah pack, larger than ninety per cent of our catalogue, on a bike that weighs 54 lbs, at £1,239.
At 750W and up to 31 mph it sits outside the UK road rules, so we sell it for private use on private land. Please read the panel above before you order.
Where you can and cannot ride it
An electrically assisted pedal cycle is capped at 250W continuous and 15.5 mph of assistance. This is 750W with a claimed 1000W peak, and 45 to 50 km/h.
It is sold for your own property, or land where the owner has given you permission. On a road or a cycle path it would need registration, tax, insurance and a licence.
That battery on that weight is the unusual part
Twenty five amp hours normally sits on a bike of eighty pounds or more, because a big pack is heavy and the frame carrying it is built accordingly.
Twenty four and a half kilograms with full suspension and a twenty five amp hour battery is light for what it is, and it is the single most interesting number on this sheet.
Full suspension and a folding aluminium frame
A hydraulic fork at the front and a rear shock, on a foldable aluminium frame with 27.5 by 3.0 inch Kenda tyres.

- Three inch tyres: float without the drag of a true fat tyre
- Suspension at both ends for ground that is not flat
- And it folds, which almost no full suspension bike does
Hydraulic brakes with motor cut-off levers
Hydraulic discs front and rear, and the levers cut the motor when you pull them.
That is a safety feature rather than a convenience. On a bike capable of 31 mph, a throttle that sticks or an assist level that keeps pushing while you are braking is the failure that matters, and a cut-off lever removes it.
Eighty to a hundred kilometres claimed
Fifty to sixty two miles, from the twenty five amp hour pack. Five to eight hours to a full charge.
The panel below turns the capacity into energy per mile and gives the honest bands. A 750 watt motor ridden hard will take the bottom of any range claim, and that is true of every bike in this class.
The payload is the limit here
A hundred kilograms, 220 pounds, which is lower than ninety nine per cent of our catalogue.
That is rider plus everything on the bike. A fifteen stone rider with a rucksack is already at it. If you are heavier, or you carry anything, this is the wrong frame and we would rather tell you now than after it arrives.
It is almost certainly the folding hinge that sets it, not the tubing, and it is the price of a full suspension bike that folds.
Before the first ride
It arrives folded and largely assembled.
- Unfold and lock the frame hinge and the stem, then check both are tight
- Set the rear shock for your weight
- Bed the hydraulic brakes in at walking pace and check the cut-off levers work
- Set tyre pressure on both 27.5 inch wheels
- Charge to full before the first ride, allowing eight hours
Two things the supplier hedges on
Allegro describe the gears as six or seven speed and the display as LED or LCD, which means the build varies between batches. We would rather repeat their hedge than pick one and have the wrong thing arrive.
There is also no torque figure, so the table below leaves that row out.
Who should not buy it
Anyone who needs public roads, and anyone near the 100 kilogram rider limit. Both are hard limits and neither is a matter of judgement.
Buy it if you have land, you are inside the weight limit, and you want a full suspension bike with a very large battery that still folds into a car. At fifty four pounds and twenty five amp hours, that combination is not something we can offer twice.

- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
