Forty amp hours on a folding frame
The Allegro TDL6125 folds, carries a 40Ah battery, higher capacity than ninety nine per cent of our catalogue, and has hydraulic brakes, at £1,290.
At 750W and 30 mph it sits outside the UK road rules, so we sell it for private use on private land. Please read the panel above before you order.
Where you can and cannot ride it
The limit for an electrically assisted pedal cycle is 250W continuous and 15.5 mph of assistance. This is three times the power and twice the speed.
It is sold for your own property, or on land where the owner has given you permission. On a road or a cycle path it would need registration, tax, insurance and a licence.
Forty amp hours that folds is the point
Two kilowatt hours of battery on a bike that goes in a car boot. Allegro also list 50Ah and 60Ah versions of the same frame, which tells you the frame was designed around the pack rather than the pack squeezed into it.
Seven to nine hours to a full charge, which is what a battery this size takes.

Allegro publish two ranges that do not agree
Their specification says 240 km, which is 150 miles, with pedal assistance. Their own question and answer page says the 35Ah version does 40 miles.
Those cannot both describe the same riding. Our table leaves the range row blank rather than picking one, and we are telling you here why it is blank instead of quietly choosing the flattering number. What we can stand behind is the forty amp hours, which is measured rather than claimed.
Hydraulic brakes and Kenda fat tyres

At sixty six pounds carrying a hundred and twenty kilograms at 30 mph, hydraulics are the right specification rather than a luxury. Kenda is a named tyre maker rather than an unbranded casing.
Twenty five degrees of climb
A stated gradeability of twenty five degrees, roughly a one in two slope, from a 750W motor Allegro quote at 1000W peak.
A number committed to paper is worth more than a paragraph about performance, and most makers will not print one.
Read the weight limit
A hundred and twenty kilograms, 265 pounds, which is lower than ninety six per cent of our catalogue.
That is rider plus everything on the bike, on a machine that already weighs sixty six. It is almost certainly the folding hinge that sets it. If you are a heavier rider, this is the wrong frame and we would rather tell you now.
Before the first ride
It arrives folded and largely assembled.

- Fit the pedals and set the saddle
- Bed the hydraulic brakes in at walking pace
- Set tyre pressure: soft for grip, firmer for range
- Charge to full, allowing the full nine hours
Who should not buy it
Anyone who needs a public road, and anyone near the 265 pound combined limit.
Buy it if you have land and you want two kilowatt hours of battery on something that still goes in a car boot. Two kilowatt hours that folds is the whole argument, and nothing else in our catalogue offers it.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
