Light and full size is the hard combination
Lightness usually comes from small wheels. This one keeps 700c wheels and still weighs what a folding bike weighs.

A hundred kilometres from three hundred and twenty four watt hours
Nine amp hours is a small battery, smaller than ninety six per cent of our range, and DYU claim 100 km with pedal assistance.
The arithmetic works because of everything else: forty three pounds, 700 by 38C tyres, and a motor that is not fighting the bike's own weight before it moves yours. A heavy fat bike needs a heavy battery just to carry itself.
The panel below turns 324 watt hours into energy per mile so you can check the claim rather than take it.
Hydraulic brakes at six hundred and eighty nine pounds
Front and rear hydraulic discs. Most bikes at this price fit cables.
One finger is enough, they do not fade, and they need no adjustment as the pads wear. On a bike this light, they are more brake than it will ever need, which is the right way round.
Seven hundred by thirty eight, on a 28 inch wheel
A road wheel with a tyre wide enough for a canal path or a gravel track, and the most common size in the country so a replacement is on any shelf.
DYU even publish the tyre pressure range, 345 to 515 kPa, which is a detail nobody prints and exactly the thing people get wrong.
Small touches that show someone used it
The display lets you choose kilometres or miles. The bike powers itself off after ten minutes of inactivity. The seat adjusts from 900 to 1050 mm from the ground.
An auto power-off is the sort of thing you only add after watching someone walk away from a bike with the display lit and the battery draining.
Fifteen degrees of hill
DYU state a climbing capability of fifteen degrees, roughly a one in four slope, from a 250W motor with a 500W peak.
Most makers will not commit a gradient to paper at all. A number is worth more than a paragraph about performance.
Seven to eight hours on charge
Long for a small pack, because the charger is a modest one. Treat it as an overnight bike.
Top it up rather than running it flat and it will still be healthy in three years.

It arrives in a box about a metre and a half long, largely built.

What you are giving up
The payload is 120 kg, lower than ninety six per cent of our catalogue, and there is no torque figure published, so the table below leaves that row out.
There is no suspension either. On 38 mm tyres at 28 inches, the wheel size does most of that work, but a rutted track will still reach you.
Buy it for roads, cycle paths and gravel, carrying yourself and a bag, and for the fact that at forty three pounds you will actually pick it up. On that job it is the best value bike we sell under seven hundred pounds.

- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
