This Model Is Fully Compliant With UK Road Regulations
This bike is built to comply with UK Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle (EAPC) regulations, meaning it can be used on public roads and cycle paths without registration, tax, or a licence. Motor assistance is limited to 250W and cuts off at 15.5 mph (25 km/h).
See UK LegislationThis one carries 540 Wh of battery. The maker quotes 68 mi; in mixed riding with some hills, expect nearer 51 mi. A full charge costs about £0.15. Across a year that is roughly £985.00 less than making the same journeys by car, so the bike pays for itself in about 7 months. Everything here is worked out from this bike's own specification. Estimates, not promises: the assumptions are printed underneath.

Sixty eight miles for five hundred and eighty nine pounds
The SAMEBIKE RS-A01 Pro-T claims 68 miles, which is longer than eighty one per cent of our catalogue, at £589 from £1,039.
Road legal at 250W: no licence, no tax, no insurance, nothing to register.

Suspension at both ends, which nothing else at this price has
An adjustable front fork and a suspended seat post. Not a full suspension frame, but the two places a city rider actually feels the road.
You can dial the fork up for a smooth commute or down for broken tarmac and kerbs. On a British road surface in February that adjustment earns its keep every ride.

A hundred and ten kilometres, and where that comes from
Fifteen amp hours is a larger pack than nearly half our range, on 26 by 2.1 inch tyres that are narrow enough to be efficient. Big battery plus sensible tyres is the whole formula.
SAMEBIKE also quote 55 km on throttle alone with no pedalling, which is the more useful number if you plan to ride it like a moped on the flat.
The panel below turns the capacity into energy per mile and shows the three assist bands.

A thumb throttle as well as pedal assist
Five levels of pedal assist, plus a thumb throttle that moves the bike without pedalling at all.
- Pulling away from a junction on a hill
- Getting going again with a full load of shopping
- The last mile home when your legs have given up
- Manoeuvring in a car park without straddling the frame

High carbon steel, and what that trade buys
Steel rather than aluminium. It is heavier, and it is why the bike sits at fifty seven pounds rather than fifty.
In exchange it flexes slightly under load instead of transmitting every jolt, it shrugs off the knocks a commuter bike takes at a bike rack, and it can be welded by any workshop in the country. Aluminium cracked is aluminium replaced.

Shimano seven speed and a colour display
A Shimano seven speed shifter, which is the standard the whole trade services, and a colour LCD showing speed, assist level and charge.
There is a USB socket on the display, so a phone on a handlebar mount charges from the main battery on a long ride.

Three hundred and thirty one pounds carried
A hundred and fifty kilograms rated, above the middle of our catalogue. Rider plus panniers plus a full shop is inside it.
The saddle adjusts from 34.6 to 39.7 inches, which covers most adult riders without a second seat post.

Four to six hours on charge
An evening. Plug it in when you get home rather than trying to fit a charge between two journeys, and top it up rather than emptying it if you want the pack healthy in three winters.

Before the first ride
It arrives largely built and it does not fold, so allow space for a full size bike.
- Fit the front wheel, handlebar and pedals
- Set the saddle to hip height inside the 34.6 to 39.7 inch range
- Set the fork preload for your weight
- Check both discs and tyre pressure
- Charge to full once before you start commuting

The one number SAMEBIKE did not publish
There is no torque rating for this motor, so the table below leaves that row out rather than guessing at it. Torque is what you feel on a hill start, and without a figure we will not imply one.
What we can say is that this is a 250W motor on a fifty seven pound steel bike, which is adequate rather than brisk on a steep climb. On the flat and on gentle hills it is exactly right, and that is the ground a city bike lives on.

- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
