The cheaper CY20, and what you give up
The SAMEBIKE CY20 is the standard version of a bike we also sell as the CY20 Pro. It folds, it claims fifty-six miles, and it costs around eighty pounds less.
Road legal at 250W: no licence, no tax, no insurance, nothing to register.
How it differs from the Pro
The two are close. This one is lighter on the scales and quotes less torque; the Pro carries a detachable throttle and a slightly different fit.
If you want the lowest price for a folding bike with this range, take this one. If you want the throttle, take the Pro. We would rather set the difference out than let you guess from two similar pages.
Folds away for the part of the journey you cannot ride
It folds to the footprint of a large suitcase: a hallway cupboard, under a desk, or the boot of a hatchback with the back seats still up.
That is the whole point of a folding bike, and plenty fold to a shape only an estate car will take.
Fifty-six miles from a modest battery
The claim is longer than half our catalogue from a thirteen amp-hour pack, which puts the efficiency rather than the capacity at the centre of it.
The panel below turns it into energy per mile. Range figures are measured at the lowest assist level on flat ground, and the bands there are the version to plan around.
Steel, and repairable anywhere
A high-carbon steel frame: heavier than aluminium, more forgiving of the knocks a folding bike takes in a car boot, and weldable in any workshop in the country.
Nothing else on the bike is proprietary either, so any shop can service it without a dealer account.
It carries more than half our range
The rated payload is well above the middle of our catalogue, which is unusual on a folding frame. A rider plus a loaded pannier is comfortably inside it.

Disc brakes, cable-operated
Front and rear discs, which keep their bite when the wheels are wet where rim brakes do not.
Mechanical rather than hydraulic, so one Allen key adjusts them and a set of pads costs a few pounds anywhere, with nothing to bleed.
What to do before the first ride
It arrives largely built. Allow twenty minutes.

- Charge to full once before you start commuting
Heavy to carry, and modest on torque
Sixty-two pounds is a bike you wheel rather than carry. Folding gets it into a boot, not up a flight of stairs every morning.
Thirty-five newton metres is also on the low side, so a steep hill from a standing start will ask more of your legs than a stronger folder would. On flat urban routes you will never notice, and that is what this bike is for.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
