A folding fat bike with a fifteen amp hour pack
The SAMEBIKE LO26 Plus folds a full size 26 inch fat tyre bike, on a 48 volt fifteen amp hour battery, at £849 from £1,259.
Road legal at 250W and 15.5 mph: no licence, no tax, no insurance, nothing to register.
How it differs from the LO26-II
We list two folding SAMEBIKEs on 26 inch wheels. The LO26-II-YD has hydraulic brakes and 75 Nm of torque on a narrower tyre, at £689.
This one trades the hydraulics for three inch tyres, a bigger battery and a higher payload. If you ride on tarmac and want the brakes, take the LO26-II. If you ride on gravel, grass and broken surfaces and carry things, take this.
Three inch tyres on a twenty six inch wheel
Not a full four inch fat tyre and not a normal one. Three inches is the width that gives you float on loose ground without the rolling resistance that makes a true fat bike hard work on the road.
On a 26 inch rim it rolls over a pothole rather than into it, and you can run it soft for comfort or firm for range.
A hundred and ten kilometres claimed, fifty five on the throttle alone
SAMEBIKE quote two figures and they measure different things. A hundred and ten kilometres is with you pedalling; fifty five is the bike carrying you with no effort at all.
The second number is the more useful one if you plan to ride it like a moped, and very few manufacturers publish it.

A thumb throttle as well as five assist levels

It folds, and it is sixty seven pounds
Thirty and a half kilograms. Folded it fits a car boot or a hallway; it is not a bike you carry upstairs.
The frame is 6061 aluminium, so nothing rusts when it lives outside, and the adjustable front fork takes the edge off a rough surface.

A hundred and fifty kilograms rated, above the middle of our range. Rider, panniers and a full shop with margin left over.
The saddle adjusts from 34.2 to 39.7 inches, which covers most adults without changing the post.
Shimano seven speed, colour display, USB socket
A Shimano seven speed shifter that any shop services, and a colour LCD for speed, assist level and charge.
There is a USB socket on the display, so a phone on a bar mount charges off the main battery on a long ride.
Before the first ride
Four to six hours to a full charge, and it arrives folded and largely built.

The brakes are the compromise
Dual disc brakes, cable operated rather than hydraulic. They work, they hold in the wet, and any shop can adjust them with an Allen key and a five pound set of pads.
But on a sixty seven pound bike carrying 150 kilograms down a long hill, hydraulics would be better, and the LO26-II has them. That is the honest choice between our two folding 26 inch bikes, and it is worth making deliberately rather than by price.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
