The ChamRider DTS425 folds, carries 25Ah, and comes with an 8 amp charger rather than the usual two or three, at £989.
At 750W and 28 mph it sits outside the UK road rules, so we sell it for private use on private land. Please read the panel above before you order.
Where you can and cannot ride it
The limit for an electrically assisted pedal cycle is 250W continuous and 15.5 mph of assistance. This is three times the power.
It is sold for your own property, or on land where the owner has given you permission. On a road or a cycle path it would need registration, tax, insurance and a licence.
Eight amps changes how you use it
Nearly every charger in our catalogue is two or three amps. This one is eight.
On a twenty five amp hour pack that is the difference between a machine you charge overnight and one you can put most of a charge back into over an afternoon. If you ride twice in a day, it is the most useful specification on the sheet, and almost nobody looks at it.

A reversible seat tube and a folding stem
The seat post is a shock absorbing reversible unit and the stem folds with a nine degree forward tilt.
Reversible means you can set the saddle forward or back by turning the post around, which shifts your weight over the machine rather than just changing the height. It is a small adjustment that changes how a short wheelbase bike feels.
A seat that drops to 46 centimetres
The saddle runs from 46 to 81 cm, which is a very wide range on a folding frame.
Low enough for a short rider to get both feet flat down at a standstill, which on an eighty two pound machine is what keeps it upright at a gate or a junction.
Hydraulic brakes and a headlight with a horn
A hydraulic brake system at both ends, with a headlight that has the horn built into it.
At eighty two pounds carrying a hundred and eighty kilograms at 28 mph, hydraulics are the right answer rather than an upgrade.
Forty miles, and seven hours to fill
Our table carries 40 miles from the twenty five amp hour pack. Seven hours on the standard charger, a good deal less on the eight amp one.

Their sheet says 37 kg in one place and 41 kg in another. Our table carries 82 lbs, which is the 37 kg figure, because that is the one stated as a net weight.

Who should not buy it
Anyone who needs a public road, and anyone with stairs. Eighty two pounds folds into a boot, not up a staircase.
Buy it if you have land, you want a twenty five amp hour folding machine with real torque and a payload of 397 pounds, and the eight amp charger is worth something to you. On a battery this size it is worth a great deal.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
