The ChamRider DM427 carries a 27Ah battery, larger than ninety five per cent of our catalogue, with 92 Nm of torque and a 397 lb payload, at £989.
At 750W and 31 mph it sits outside the UK road rules, so we sell it for private use on private land. Please read the panel above before you order.
Where you can and cannot ride it
The limit for an electrically assisted pedal cycle is 250W continuous and 15.5 mph of assistance. This is three times the power and twice the speed.
It is sold for your own property, or on land where the owner has given you permission. On a road or a cycle path it would need registration, tax, insurance and a licence.
How it differs from the DH420
We list the ChamRider DH420 at £1,439 with the same motor and the same 92 newton metres.
That one has full suspension, nine gears and a twenty amp hour pack. This one has a locked fork and a rigid rear, seven gears, and twenty seven amp hours. You are trading the rear shock and two gears for a third more battery and four hundred and fifty pounds. On tracks rather than trails, that is the better trade.
Sixty to ninety kilometres on the motor alone
ChamRider publish both figures: 60 to 90 km on the throttle, 100 to 200 km with you pedalling.
Twenty seven amp hours at 48 volts is roughly 1,300 watt hours, which is why the lower figure is as high as it is. Our table carries 62 miles.

Brakes that cut the motor
A hydraulic brake system with a power-off function: touching a lever stops the motor driving.
At 50 km/h on loose ground that is not a convenience feature. It removes the case where the motor is still pulling while the brakes are trying to stop it.
A hundred and eighty kilograms carried
Three hundred and ninety seven pounds, higher than ninety one per cent of our catalogue, on a thickened aluminium frame at sixty pounds.

A four amp charger
Four amps rather than the usual two or three, on a twenty seven amp hour pack.
That is the difference between a bike you can use twice in a day and one you charge overnight and then wait for. On a battery this size it is the single most practical thing on the sheet.
A locked front fork, and why that is a choice
The fork locks out, so it stops absorbing your pedalling on smooth ground and works when you want it to.
There is no rear suspension. On gravel tracks, farm roads and hard ground that costs you nothing and saves weight, which is how a bike with this battery comes in at sixty pounds.
Before the first ride
It arrives largely assembled, in a box about a metre and a half long.

- Bed the hydraulic brakes in and check the power-off function
- Set the saddle between 50 cm and 85 cm
- Check tyre pressure on both 27.5 inch wheels
- Charge to full on the 4 amp charger before the first long ride
ChamRider give two weights, and we will not pick one
Their sheet says 27 kg in one place and about 35 kg in another. Our table carries 60 lbs, which is the 27 kg figure, because that is the one stated as a net weight.

Who should not buy it
Anyone who needs a public road, and anyone expecting a plush ride on rough ground.
Buy it if you have land, you want the largest battery you can get for under a thousand pounds, and you would rather spend the money on range and a fast charger than on a rear shock.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
