Three wheels, eighty newton metres, and road legal
The PVY F20 is a three wheeled cargo machine with 80 Nm of torque and a 331 lb payload, at £1,529.
Road legal at 250W and 15.5 mph: no licence, no tax, no insurance, nothing to register. That is rare on a trike and it is the reason to look at this one.
A legal trike is an unusual thing to find
Most three wheeled machines we list are 500W or more and have to be sold for private land. This one is 250W and stays inside the rules, which means you can ride it on a road or a cycle path like any bicycle.
PVY do publish an unlock power of 1000W on their sheet. Using it would take the machine outside the law and out of the definition of an electrically assisted pedal cycle, so we sell it as delivered and we would leave it that way.
Three wheels changes who can ride
It does not fall over, and that single fact is the argument.

- Parking levers, so it stays where you put it on a slope
Parking levers are the detail that tells you PVY understood the machine: a 110 pound trike on a gradient with shopping in it needs a brake you can leave on.
Eighty newton metres, and a walk mode
Strong torque for a 250W motor, with a walk mode that drives the machine at up to 6 km/h beside you.
On a hundred and ten pound trike, pushing it through a gate or up a ramp is real work. Walk mode is the feature people find in the second week and then use forever.
Brakes that cut the motor
Mechanical discs with a power-off function: touching a lever stops the motor driving.
On a heavy three wheeler carrying 150 kilograms, that removes the case where the motor is still pulling while you are trying to stop.
Fifty kilometres on the motor, eighty pedalling
PVY publish both, from a 48 volt twenty one amp hour pack, higher capacity than eighty seven per cent of our catalogue.

High carbon steel, and a hundred and ten pounds
Steel rather than aluminium, which is most of why it is heavier than ninety eight per cent of our catalogue.
Steel flexes under a load instead of transmitting every jolt, it survives being knocked about, and any workshop can weld it. On a machine built to carry weight, that matters more than saving a few kilograms you cannot lift anyway.
No throttle, and PVY say so
There is no throttle fitted by default, though one can be retrofitted. Assistance is three levels through a cadence sensor, with a Shimano seven speed.
Stating that plainly rather than leaving it off the sheet is worth something: a throttle is the thing people most expect and most often do not get.
Before the first ride
It arrives largely assembled and it is a two person unpack at a hundred and ten pounds.

Who it is for

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
