The PVY Z20 Plus makes 100 Nm inside the law, carries a 1200 lumen headlight and comes with an iron rack and mudguards fitted, at £1,019.

How it differs from the Z20 Plus EVO
We list the PVY Z20 Plus EVO at £1,279 with the same 100 newton metres and the same 1200 lumen light.
The EVO adds a torque sensor alongside the cadence one and an eighteen amp hour battery. This one has the cadence sensor alone and 16.5 amp hours, and it comes with an iron rack and mudguards the EVO does not. Two hundred and sixty pounds separates them, and the sensor is what that money is really for.
A hundred newton metres inside the law
More than double what many 250W bikes manage, with a stated climbing ability of twenty degrees.
Torque is the pull: away from a junction, up a hill, out of a rut with a loaded rack. On a sixty four pound fat bike it is the difference between the motor helping and the motor apologising.
A hundred and twenty kilometres claimed
Seventy five miles, longer than eighty five per cent of our catalogue, from a 48 volt 16.5 amp hour pack.
That is measured at low assist on flat ground. The panel below turns the capacity into energy per mile and gives you the eco, mixed and full assist bands; plan around the mixed one.
Hydraulic brakes that cut the motor
Hydraulic discs with a power-off function, so touching a lever stops the motor driving.
On a fat bike with a throttle, the power-off is the part that matters most. One finger is enough and they do not fade on a long descent.
A lockable fork, and a throttle
The fork locks out so it stops absorbing your pedalling on smooth ground, and there is a throttle alongside five levels of assist.

Fitted from the factory, and iron rather than plastic.
Heavier, and a great deal harder to crack when something knocks into it in a shed. On a bike that will carry things, the rack being the strong part rather than the weak one is worth the weight.
Twenty by four inch fat tyres, and 331 pounds
Four inches wide on upgraded 6061 aluminium, rated to a hundred and fifty kilograms, at sixty four pounds including the battery.
Run soft the tyres float over gravel, grass and broken tarmac. Aluminium means nothing rusts when the bike lives outside.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
