The PVY Z20 Plus EVO makes 100 Nm inside the law, runs both a cadence and a torque sensor, and carries a 1200 lumen headlight, at £1,279.
Road legal at 250W: no licence, no tax, no insurance, nothing to register.
Both sensors, not one
Almost every bike we sell has a cadence sensor or a torque sensor. This has both.
The cadence sensor brings the motor in the moment the pedals turn; the torque sensor then scales it to how hard you are pushing. You get the immediacy of one and the proportionality of the other, which is a specification normally found on bikes costing a great deal more.
Twelve hundred lumens is a motorcycle light
Most bikes fit a light to be seen by. This one lights the road well enough to ride an unlit lane at speed, and it is rated IPX5 against water jets.

A hundred newton metres inside the law
Strong torque for a 250W motor, more than double what many legal bikes manage, with a stated climbing ability of twenty degrees.
Torque is the pull: away from a junction, up a hill, out of a rut with a loaded rack. On a sixty eight pound fat bike it is the difference between the motor helping and the motor apologising.

Hydraulic brakes that cut the motor
Hydraulic discs with a power-off function: touching a lever stops the motor driving.
One finger is enough, they do not fade on a long descent, and they hold their bite in the wet. On a fat bike with a throttle, the power-off is the part that matters most.
A throttle as well as five assist levels
A throttle moves the bike with no pedalling at all, which on a sixty eight pound machine is genuinely useful.
Pulling away uphill with a load, getting going at a junction, or manoeuvring in a car park without straddling the frame.
Twenty by four inch fat tyres and an upgraded frame
Four inches wide on 6061 aluminium, rated to carry a hundred and fifty kilograms.
Run soft the tyres float over gravel, grass and broken tarmac. Aluminium means nothing rusts when the bike lives outside.
Before the first ride
It arrives largely built.
- Fit the front wheel, handlebar and pedals
- Bed the hydraulic brakes in and check the power-off function
- Set tyre pressure: soft for grip, firmer for range on tarmac
- Aim the 1200 lumen headlight down before riding at night, or you will dazzle people
- Charge to full once before the first long ride

Someone who wants the strongest legal torque with real equipment on it: two sensors, hydraulic brakes with a cut-off, a proper light and a throttle.

- Yes. You can ride the bike and still return it. Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we book the courier and collect it from your door. Contact us first and we will guide you through the process.
- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
