Where you can and cannot ride it
Fafrees have it type approved in the EU as an L2e-P, which is a moped category rather than a bicycle one. That is not the same as being an electrically assisted pedal cycle in the UK, where the limit is 250W and 15.5 mph.
We sell it for your own property, or land where the owner has given you permission. Using it on a UK road would mean registering it, taxing it, insuring it and holding the licence that category requires.
Three wheels changes what it is for
It does not fall over. That single fact is the whole argument for a trike, and it opens the machine to riders a two wheeler does not suit.

A thousand watt hours
Forty eight volts and twenty one amp hours, removable, at 5.3 kg. Fafrees quote 65 to 85 km.
A trike is dragging three tyres rather than two, and a big battery is what stops that costing you the day's range. Seven to eight hours from empty on the supplied three amp charger.

Single speed, and that is deliberate
No derailleur and no shifter: one 36 tooth chainring driving a single 16 tooth sprocket.
Nothing to index, nothing to knock out of alignment, and no rear mech hanging where a trike's rear end can catch it. The motor and the 65 newton metres do the work that gears would otherwise do.
One hundred and eighty millimetre hydraulic brakes
Hydraulic discs on 180 mm rotors. On a ninety five pound machine carrying a hundred and eighty kilograms, nothing smaller would be sensible.
Bed them in properly before you use the power in earnest, and check them before every ride.
Turn signals
Front and rear lights with indicators, which is part of what the L2e-P approval requires and part of why the wiring is rated IPX5.
On a wide machine at 30 km/h with other people about, being seen changing direction is worth more than any other line on the sheet.
It folds, at ninety five pounds
Folded to 100 by 74 by 82 centimetres at the handlebar and the frame.
Forty three kilograms is not something you lift. Folding here is about getting it through a doorway and into a van, with two people, rather than about carrying it anywhere.
Puncture resistant tyres and a lockout fork
Chaoyang 20 by 3.0 inch puncture resistant tyres on 36 hole double wall rims, with a 35 mm suspension fork that locks out.
Puncture resistance matters more on a trike than anywhere else: you cannot wheel a ninety five pound three wheeler home on a flat.

It arrives folded and it is a two person unpack.

Who it is for, and who it is not
Fafrees size it for riders between 160 cm and 200 cm. It is not for public roads, it is not a first electric machine, and at 74 cm wide it will not go everywhere a bicycle goes.
Buy it if balance is the thing standing between you and riding, or if you need to carry a hundred and eighty kilograms over ground where a two wheeler would put it down. Nothing else in our catalogue does that job.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
