Where you may ride it, and where you may not
In the UK, privately owned electric scooters may not be used on public roads, pavements or cycle paths. Only rental scooters in government trial areas may, and this is not one.
That is true whatever its speed or power: the restriction is on the vehicle type, not on the specification. It is sold for your own land, or land whose owner has given you permission.
Three-inch tyres on a scooter
Most scooters run a tyre an inch and a half wide. This one runs three.

- It can be run softer without pinching
- A wide tyre absorbs what a small wheel would otherwise pass straight up
- And the machine still weighs only 17.2 kg
Seventeen kilogrammes, which decides whether it gets used
One person carries it up stairs or lifts it into a boot without planning.
That is the measurement that matters more than the spec sheet: a machine too heavy to move alone stops being used. Folded it is 118 × 50.5 × 54 cm.

ENGWE claims 65 km in assist mode, and five to six hours for a full charge.

Drum brakes, and that is worth understanding
Not discs: enclosed drums at the wheel.
A drum is sealed against water and grit, so it works the same in the wet and needs almost no attention. It has less outright bite than a disc and it fades sooner under repeated hard use. On a machine at this speed that is a fair trade, but it is the line to know before you order.
Before the first ride, and who it is for
ENGWE sizes it for riders of 5 ft to 5 ft 9 in. Payload is 265 lbs. The box is 123 × 18.5 × 59.5 cm at 19.85 kg. No frame material or torque figure is published, and both rows stay empty below.

Buy it if you have ground of your own and you want a scooter that copes with a rough surface. The fat tyres are the whole reason it exists, and at 17 kg it is still one you can carry.

- Can I return my electric bike?
- Yes. You can ride the bike and still return it. Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we book the courier and collect it from your door. Contact us first and we will guide you through the process.
- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
