A thousand watts and forty miles for five hundred and eighty nine pounds
The iScooter iX5S claims 40 miles from a 720 Wh battery, on 11 inch pneumatic tyres with suspension at both ends, at £589.
It is not an electrically assisted pedal cycle, so we sell it for private use on private land. Please read the panel above before you order.
Where you can and cannot ride it
A privately owned electric scooter cannot legally be used on a public road, pavement or cycle path in the UK, at any power.
This one is sold for your own property, or land where the owner has given you permission.
Four riding modes in two sets
Comfort mode runs 6, 10, 15 and 25 km/h. Off-road mode runs 15, 25, 35 and 45.
Eight settings in total, split into two groups rather than one long list. Comfort mode tops out below the off-road set's starting point, so you can hand it to someone without them finding 45 km/h by accident.
Eleven inch pneumatic tyres
Air rather than solid, and large for a scooter.
- A bigger wheel rolls over an edge instead of stopping against it
- More air means more cushioning on rough ground
- More stable at speed, which is where scooters bite
- Suspension front and rear on top of that
Aluminium and steel together
An A6061 aluminium frame with steel where it matters, rather than aluminium throughout.
Steel in the high stress areas is heavier and a good deal harder to crack. At sixty pounds this is not a light machine, and that is where the weight went.
Seven hundred and twenty watt hours
Forty eight volts and fifteen amp hours, quoted at 40 miles or 65 km.
At a thousand watts that figure falls away quickly, and no maker prints the number for riding hard. The panel below does the sum so you can see it rather than take it.
Disc brakes and an electronic brake
Discs front and rear plus electronic braking through the motor.
The electronic brake takes the everyday slowing and wears nothing; the discs are there for the stop that matters. Together they last a great deal longer than discs doing all of it.
Three hundred and thirty pounds carried, and a year's warranty
A hundred and fifty kilograms, higher than a third of our catalogue, with a twelve month warranty and an IPX4 rating.
IPX4 is splashing water from any direction: rain and puddles, not a jet wash.

Who it is for
Of the iScooters we list this is the least expensive, and the one with the least on it: no NFC lock, no turn signals, no ambient lighting, and a smaller battery than the iX6.
What it does have is the same eleven inch wheels, the same dual suspension and a thousand watts, for two hundred and fifty pounds less than the iX6. Buy it if you want the capability and not the equipment, and you have ground to use it on.

- Can I return my electric bike?
- Yes. You can ride the bike and still return it. Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we book the courier and collect it from your door. Contact us first and we will guide you through the process.
- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
