Why twenty eight inch wheels change the ride
Almost every electric bike we sell runs twenty inch or twenty six inch wheels. This one uses the size a traditional road or hybrid bike uses.
A big wheel rolls over a rut instead of dropping into it, holds its speed once it has it, and puts you in a taller, more upright position. If you have ridden a normal bike for years and everything electric has felt like a toy, this is the one that will feel familiar.
Fifty miles from a thirteen amp hour pack
The claim is longer than two fifths of our catalogue, from a modest battery. Narrow tyres and a large wheel are efficient in a way fat tyres never are, and this is where that shows.
The panel below turns the capacity into energy per mile and gives you bands for eco, mixed and full assist. The eco band is the figure a manufacturer quotes; the mixed band is the one to plan around.
Sixty pounds, which for this size is light
Aluminium alloy 6061 throughout. At sixty pounds it is lighter than nearly two thirds of what we sell, despite being one of the larger bikes in the range.
Light enough to lift onto a rack or manage a short flight of steps, and the alloy will not rust when it lives outside.

Where you can and cannot ride it
UK rules cap an electrically assisted pedal cycle at 250W continuous and 15.5 mph of assistance. This bike is rated at 500W and 21.7 mph, so it falls outside that.
It is sold here for private use on private land: your own property, or land where the owner has given you permission. Riding it on a public road or cycle path would require registration, tax, insurance and a licence.
What the extra power actually buys
Five hundred watts is higher than about two thirds of the bikes we list. On private ground that means:
- A hill start with a load that does not stall
- Real acceleration rather than a gentle nudge
- Speed held on a long incline instead of bleeding away
- A margin left when the battery is half down
None of that is available to you on a 250W bike, which is the honest reason this one exists.
Mechanical disc brakes
Discs front and rear, cable operated. They hold their bite in the wet where rim brakes surrender, and they are the kind any shop can service with a five pound set of pads and an Allen key.
Given the speed this bike is capable of, bed them in properly before you use them in anger.
Before the first ride
It arrives largely built.
- Fit the front wheel, handlebar and pedals
- Set the saddle high enough that your leg almost straightens at the bottom of the stroke
- Check tyre pressure, which matters more on narrow tyres than fat ones
- Bed the brakes in at walking pace
- Charge to full before the first long ride

There is no charging time and no torque rating for this model. We leave both rows out of the table below rather than filling them with a guess.
On a 36 volt thirteen amp hour pack a standard two amp charger is roughly six to seven hours, but that is arithmetic and not a manufacturer figure, so we do not print it as one. Ask us and we will check with the supplier.
Who should not buy it
Anyone who needs to ride on a public road or cycle path. That is the whole of it, and it is not a small exclusion. If your riding is a commute through town, buy one of the 250W bikes we list instead and we will happily point you at the right one.
Buy this if you have land, or access to land, and you want a proper full size bike with real power on it for six hundred and forty nine pounds.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
