A big battery on a cheap bike
The SAMEBIKE RS-A01 Pro carries fifteen amp-hours, which is more battery than roughly half our catalogue, on a bike that costs less than six hundred pounds.
Capacity is the expensive part of an electric bike. Getting a generous one at this price is the reason to look at this model rather than anything on its spec sheet.
Fifty-six miles, and what that really means
The claimed range is longer than half of what we sell. Range figures are measured at the lowest assist level on flat ground, so treat the number as a ceiling rather than a promise.
The table below gives the realistic bands for low assist, mixed riding and full power. That is the version to plan a commute around.
Twenty-six inch wheels, upright position
Big wheels meet a pothole at a shallower angle and roll across it instead of dropping in. The riding position is upright, so you are looking at the traffic rather than at your front tyre.
It is a city bike in shape and in intent: unhurried, familiar, and easy to ride from the first mile.
Lighter than most bikes with this much battery
At sixty-two pounds it is below the middle of our range for weight, which is unusual for a bike carrying a pack this size.
Weight is the specification people compare last and feel every day: wheeling it through a door, lifting it onto a rack, or pedalling it home with a flat battery.
The motor helps, you still ride
Two hundred and fifty watts flattens a hill and shortens a headwind rather than doing the whole job. Assistance stops at the legal limit and the rest is yours.
It is road legal in the UK: no licence, no tax, no insurance, nothing to register.
Disc brakes, not rim brakes
Plenty of bikes near this price still use rim brakes, which lose much of their bite as soon as the rim is wet. These are discs, front and rear.
They are cable-operated rather than hydraulic, so one Allen key adjusts them and a set of pads costs a few pounds at any shop.
It carries more than half the range
The rated payload is well above the middle of our catalogue. A rider plus a loaded pannier and the week's shopping is comfortably inside it.

Steel, and repairable anywhere
The frame is high-carbon steel. Heavier than aluminium, more forgiving of knocks, and weldable in any workshop in the country.
Nothing else on the bike is proprietary either. The chain, the brakes and the wheels are ordinary bicycle parts, which is what keeps a cheap bike cheap to own rather than only to buy.
Six hours on charge, so plug it in at night
A large battery takes time. From empty it is an overnight job rather than something you fit between two trips.
Topping up rather than running to empty is easier on the cells, and with a pack this size you rarely need to run it down.
What to do before the first ride
It arrives mostly built. Allow twenty minutes and the tool in the box.
- Fit the front wheel, handlebar and pedals
- Set the saddle so your leg is nearly straight at the bottom of the stroke
- Check both brakes and the tyre pressure
- Charge it to full once before you start commuting on it
Where the money did not go
There is no suspension to speak of, the brakes are mechanical, and the frame is steel rather than aluminium. At this price something has to give, and here it is the chassis rather than the battery.
That is the right trade for a bike used on roads and paths, and the wrong one for rough ground. If you want to ride bridleways, buy something with a proper fork. If you want range and reliability on tarmac without spending four figures, this is the one we would point you at.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
