Private Land Use Only.
Not for public roads, pavements or cycle paths. Its motor and assisted top speed are above the UK EAPC limits of 250W and 15.5 mph, which makes it a motor vehicle in law. It would need registration, insurance and a licence. Ride it on private land.
See UK LegislationThis bike is built for riders 5'3"-6'7" (160-200 cm).

The manufacturer's figures, not ours.
This one carries 998 Wh of battery. The maker quotes 59 mi; in mixed riding with some hills, expect nearer 44 mi. A full charge costs about £0.28. Across a year that is roughly £980.00 less than making the same journeys by car, so the bike pays for itself in about 15 months. Everything here is worked out from this bike's own specification. Estimates, not promises: the assumptions are printed underneath.

Two batteries, sixty five newton metres, and it folds
The Fafrees FF20 Polar carries 998 Wh across a split pack with 65 Nm of torque and an 860 watt peak, at £1,164.
At 500W it sits outside the UK road rules, so we sell it for private use on private land. Please read the panel above before you order.

Where you can and cannot ride it
The limit is 250W continuous and 15.5 mph of assistance. This is 500W sustained with 860 watts available at peak.
It belongs on your own property, or on land where the owner has given you permission. On a road or a cycle path it would need registration, tax, insurance and a licence.

The pack is split in two, which is the interesting part
Fafrees give the battery weight as 3.1 plus 3.65 kilograms: two units rather than one brick.
A split pack is easier to carry indoors, easier to store, and means a failure takes out half your range rather than all of it. Nearly twenty one amp hours is a large battery however it is packaged, and this is the sensible way to package it.

Sixty five newton metres
Higher than the F20 Max we also list, on the same 500W rating, and with 860 watts of peak against its 690.
Torque is what pulls a seventy five pound bike away from a standstill and up a slope with a load on. If you are choosing between the two Fafrees folders, this is the one with the muscle and that one is the one with the range.

Ninety five to a hundred and fifteen kilometres
Fifty nine to seventy one miles, from the 998 watt hour pack, removable for charging indoors. Eight hours from empty on the supplied 3 amp charger.
The panel below turns the capacity into energy per mile and gives the bands, which is the version to plan around when you are using 860 watts of it.

Certified to three standards
EN15194, CE and E-Mark, with an IPV4 water rating and a 3.5 inch IPS colour display rated IP65.
An IPS panel is readable at an angle and in daylight, which sounds like a small thing until you are looking at a washed-out screen with the sun behind you.

Rack, mudguards and kickstand included
The parts you would otherwise buy in the first month, fitted from the factory.
- Shimano seven speed with a trigger shifter, 14 to 28 cassette
- Chaoyang 20 by 4 inch tyres on 36 hole double wall rims
- Front and rear lights with a brake light
- A suspension fork with 40 mm of travel
- Folded to 93 by 64 by 75 centimetres

Who it fits
Fafrees size it for riders between 160 cm and 200 cm, which is 5ft 3in to 6ft 7in, with a 42 cm standover and the saddle running from 81 to 102 cm.
That is a wide fit range, and the low standover makes getting on and off easier than the frame shape suggests.

Three hundred and thirty one pounds carried
A hundred and fifty kilograms rated, above the middle of our catalogue, on a bike that already weighs seventy five pounds.
You wheel it rather than carry it. Folding gets it into a car boot, not up a flight of stairs.

Before the first ride
It arrives folded with a charger and a manual.
- Unfold and lock the frame and the handlebar, then check both
- Set the saddle between 81 cm and 102 cm
- Set tyre pressure: soft for grip, firmer for range
- Check both brakes before using the power
- Charge to full before the first long ride

Mechanical brakes, and a cadence sensor
Disc brakes on 160 mm rotors, cable operated, and a cadence sensor rather than a torque sensor. Fafrees also state the fork has no lockout.
All three are honest omissions at this price rather than hidden ones, and the cables are serviceable anywhere for the price of a set of pads. But on a seventy five pound bike with 860 watts available, hydraulics would be the upgrade worth making first.
Buy it for the split battery, the 65 newton metres and the fact that everything you would otherwise add is already on it.
