Where you may ride it, and where you may not
In the UK an electric bicycle is capped at 250W and must cut its assistance at 15.5 mph. This is twice the power and above the speed.
It is sold for your own land, or land whose owner has given you permission. On a public road it would be a moped: registration, insurance, tax and a licence.
IP65, and that is a step above
Dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, where most machines at this price claim IP54 or nothing at all.

Forty-five centimetres to step over
That is low, and on a 59 lb bike it is what makes the difference.
You get on without lifting your foot higher than a stair, and off onto one foot at a standstill. The saddle adjusts from 87 to 101 cm and the handlebars from 103 to 113.
isinwheel publishes both ranges
Thirty-seven to forty-seven miles on the throttle alone, forty-seven to sixty-five with pedal assist, from a 36V 13Ah removable pack of 374 watt hours.
Our table carries 37 miles, the bottom of that band. Their own FAQ adds that real range varies with terrain, rider weight and assist level, which is more honesty than most sheets offer.
The brakes are mechanical, and you should know that
Cable rather than hydraulic, on a machine stated at 20 mph.
They stop well and want the cable tension checking now and then, but on a bike ridden above 15 mph we would prefer hydraulic. It is the line that gives us most pause on this sheet, and we would rather write it than leave you to find out.
A rear carrier, included

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
