Why this one carries the restricted notice
The motor is 250W, which is inside the rules. The speed is not: isinwheel publish throttle modes at 10, 15, 25 and 30 km/h, and 30 km/h is 18.6 mph.
A machine that can be set above 15.5 mph of assistance falls outside the definition of an electrically assisted pedal cycle in the UK, so we sell it for your own property or land where you have permission. We flag it from the specification rather than from what the box says.
Hydraulic brakes at this price are rare
A hundred and sixty millimetre hydraulic discs front and rear on a five hundred pound bike.
One finger is enough, they do not fade, they hold in the wet, and they need no adjustment as the pads wear. Almost everything at this money uses cables.
Two to three hours on charge
A small pack at 7.8 amp hours, and that is exactly why it fills so fast.
You can put a useful amount back over a lunch break, which changes how a short range bike is used: charge it twice a day and the twenty two miles matters far less than it looks.

Buy it if you are inside the height range, you have somewhere to ride it, and you want hydraulic brakes and a two hour charge for five hundred and seventeen pounds. Those two things together at this money are the argument.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
