Twenty five amp hours is the whole point of this bike
Most city bikes carry ten to fifteen. This has twenty five, and Fafrees quote 95 to 120 km rather than a single flattering number.
The pack weighs 4.8 kg and comes off the frame to charge indoors. The name of the bike is about the battery and nothing else, and for once that is honest rather than marketing.

Ten hours on charge, and that is the trade
A three amp charger filling twenty five amp hours takes the time arithmetic says it takes.
Treat it as a bike you charge once a week rather than one you top up nightly, which given the range is how it is meant to be used. If you need a bike back on the road in an afternoon, this is not the pack for you.
A flip-up saddle
The saddle hinges up out of the way. It sounds like nothing and it is the detail people notice most.
It makes the bike easier to get past in a narrow hallway, easier to lock through the frame, and easier to lift by the seat tube. Nobody else in our catalogue fits one.
High-carbon steel, and a sprung post on top
A steel frame rather than aluminium, with a suspension seatpost and a 40 mm fork.
Steel flexes under load instead of transmitting every jolt, it survives the knocks a commuter bike takes at a rack, and any workshop can weld it. It is also why the bike weighs sixty five pounds.
Certified to three standards
EN15194, CE and E-Mark, with IP54 water resistance on the bike and on the display.
IP54 is dust and splashing water: rain and puddles rather than a pressure washer. A stated rating tells you where the limit is, which is more use than a claim that it is weatherproof.

Who it fits
Fafrees size it for riders between 158 cm and 198 cm, with the saddle from 82 to 99 cm and a 45 cm standover.
That is a wide fit range, and the low standover makes getting on and off straightforward with a loaded rack.

Mechanical disc brakes rather than hydraulic, a cadence sensor rather than a torque sensor, three assist levels rather than five, and a payload of 265 pounds, which is toward the bottom of our catalogue on a bike that already weighs sixty five.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
