One thousand and eighty watt hours, on a folding frame
The Fafrees F20 Max carries a 1,080 Wh Samsung pack, larger than all but a tenth of our catalogue, on a folding fat bike, at £964.
At 500W it sits outside the UK road rules, so we sell it for private use on private land. Please read the panel above before you order.
Where you can and cannot ride it
An electrically assisted pedal cycle is capped at 250W continuous. This motor is rated 500W sustained with a 690W peak.
It is sold for your own property, or land where the owner has given you permission. On a road or a cycle path it would need registration, tax, insurance and a licence.
Twenty two and a half amp hours of Samsung cells
A thousand and eighty watt hours is roughly three times what a typical folding bike carries, and Fafrees quote 100 to 120 km.
The pack is Samsung cells, removable, and weighs 4.7 kg on its own. Take it out and the bike drops to about sixty four pounds for lifting.
The panel below turns the capacity into energy per mile and gives the honest bands.
Certified, and to three standards
EN15194, CE and E-Mark. Very few bikes at this price list all three, and E-Mark in particular is a road vehicle certification rather than a bicycle one.
IPX3 for water, which is rain rather than a jet wash. A stated figure is a manufacturer standing behind something.
Suspension in two places
A suspension fork with 50 mm of travel, and a suspension seatpost with 15 mm on top of it.
The fork has no lockout, which Fafrees state plainly rather than leaving you to discover. On a folding bike with four inch tyres that is a fair trade: the tyres are doing most of the damping anyway.

Handlebar, frame and pedals all fold. Measure your boot before you order; that is what a published folded size is for.
At sixty nine pounds it is a bike you wheel and lift with two hands, not one you carry.
Who it fits
Fafrees size it for riders between 165 cm and 200 cm, which is 5ft 5in to 6ft 7in, with a 44 cm standover and the handlebar adjustable through twenty centimetres.
An adjustable bar over that range is unusual and is what lets one folding bike genuinely fit two different people.
Seven hours on charge
Zero to a hundred per cent on the supplied 3 amp charger. For 1,080 watt hours that is quick, and it is one of the reasons the charger is specified at three amps rather than two.
Before the first ride
It arrives folded with a charger, a tool kit and a manual.
- Unfold and lock the frame, the handlebar and the pedals, then check all three
- Set the saddle between 86 cm and 102 cm
- Set tyre pressure: soft for grip, firmer for range
- Check both brakes carefully before using the power
- Charge to full before the first long ride
The brakes and the sensor are where the money was saved
Mechanical disc brakes on 160 mm rotors rather than hydraulics, and a cadence sensor rather than a torque sensor.
The cables work and any shop can service them, but on a sixty nine pound bike carrying 150 kilograms, hydraulics would be better. The cadence sensor means the motor arrives a beat after you start pedalling rather than in proportion to your effort.
Buy it for the battery. A thousand and eighty watt hours at under a thousand pounds is not something we can offer twice, and if range on private land is what you are buying, nothing else in this price bracket is close.

- Can I return my electric bike?
- Yes. You can ride the bike and still return it. Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we book the courier and collect it from your door. Contact us first and we will guide you through the process.
- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
