Fifty three miles from a ten amp hour battery
Four hundred and eighty watt hours, which is a small pack, doing 85 km. That is a longer claim than half our catalogue from a fraction of the capacity.
It works because of what the bike is not: 20 by 2.0 inch tyres rather than four inch ones, and forty nine pounds rather than eighty. A heavy bike on fat tyres spends most of its battery moving itself.

Narrow tyres on a folding bike, which is the right choice
Twenty by two inch puncture proof Chaoyang tyres. Most folding bikes at this price fit fat tyres because they look capable.

Suspension at both ends anyway
An oil and spring fork with adjustment at the front, and rear suspension as well.
On twenty inch wheels that matters more than on large ones: a small wheel drops into a pothole that a big wheel rolls over, and the suspension is what stops that reaching you. Full suspension on a forty nine pound folding bike is genuinely rare.
Nine gears
A Shimano nine speed, where almost everything else in this catalogue has seven.
The motor stops assisting at just under fifteen miles an hour, so above that it is you and the gearing. Nine closely spaced ratios is what keeps the bike pleasant to pedal above the assist limit rather than feeling geared out.
A torque sensor
A torque sensor rather than a cadence sensor, measuring how hard you press and scaling the motor to match.
On a light bike this is the whole character of the thing: it feels like a bicycle you have become stronger on, not a machine with a switch.
Fully hydraulic brakes
Hydraulic discs rather than cables, on a bike that weighs forty nine pounds. One finger is enough and they do not fade.
They also need no adjustment as the pads wear, which matters on a bike that spends its life being folded and unfolded.
Forty nine pounds, and what that allows
Lighter than eighty six per cent of our catalogue. That is the number that decides whether a folding bike is actually used or quietly left in the hall.
Light enough to lift into a boot, onto a train, or up a short flight of steps. The frame is 6061 aluminium with the battery inside it, and the pack comes out to charge at a desk.

Top it up rather than running it flat and that rating will outlast your interest in counting.

It arrives folded and largely built.

- Fit the pedals and set the saddle
- Bed the hydraulic brakes in at walking pace
- Check tyre pressure, which on a 2.0 inch tyre is higher than you may expect
- Charge to full once before the first long ride
Who it fits, and who it does not
Cyrusher size it for riders between 150 cm and 180 cm, which is 4ft 9in to 5ft 11in. Over about 5ft 11in, look at something with larger wheels.
The payload is 265 pounds, lower than ninety six per cent of our catalogue, so rider plus a rucksack rather than rider plus a full shop.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
