Full suspension and Tektro hydraulics, for private ground
The Vitilan M5 is a full-suspension mountain bike with named brakes: Tektro hydraulic discs on 180mm rotors, front and rear. Its 500W motor and its top speed are both beyond UK road law, so we sell it for private land only.
Ground you own, or ground where you have permission. Not a road, not a pavement, not a cycle path.
Suspension at both ends, doing real work
Front and rear travel on a twenty-seven and a half inch wheel, which is the size proper mountain bikes use. It keeps the back wheel on the ground over roots and rock rather than letting it skip off.
This is not comfort suspension on a commuter frame. It is the layout of a trail bike, with a motor added.
Named brakes, on large rotors
Tektro hydraulic discs, a hundred and eighty millimetres front and rear. Named components matter because you can buy pads and parts for them anywhere, for years.
They do not fade on a long descent and they do not lose their bite when everything is wet and gritty, which on an eighty-five pound bike pointed downhill is the difference that counts.
Twenty-seven and a half inch wheels
Large enough to roll over roots and rock rather than into them, and to carry speed across rough ground where a small wheel bleeds it away.
It is why this feels like a mountain bike rather than a powerful commuter with knobbly tyres.
Sixty newton metres, on a trail frame
Torque is what gets you up a loose climb, and a full-suspension frame is what keeps the rear wheel gripping while it happens.
The two together are the point of this bike: neither is much use without the other.
Aluminium, and honestly heavy
An aluminium frame, and eighty-five pounds even so. Full suspension, a large battery and a motor all add weight, and there is no way around it.
Treat it as a bike you ride from where it is stored or drive to the ground you want. It is not a bike you carry.
Six hours to fill
Reasonable for a fifteen amp-hour pack. Charge after a session rather than before one and it is always ready.

What to do before the first ride
It arrives largely assembled and it is heavy: get a second pair of hands for the unboxing.
- Fit the front wheel, handlebar and pedals
- Bed the Tektro brakes in at walking pace before a first descent
- Set both suspension units for your weight before you ride, not after
- Confirm you have somewhere private and lawful to ride it
- Charge to full once before the first session
You cannot ride this on the road
The motor is double the legal limit and the top speed is well past the assisted one. This is not an electrically assisted pedal cycle, and it cannot be ridden on a public road, a pavement or a cycle path in the UK.
If you have trails you are allowed to ride, this is the closest thing on our shelf to a real mountain bike with a motor: named brakes, full suspension, proper wheels. If you do not, everything that makes it good is unusable, and our 250W range is the right shelf instead.

- Can I return my electric bike?
- Yes. You can ride the bike and still return it. Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we book the courier and collect it from your door. Contact us first and we will guide you through the process.
- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
