Where you can and cannot ride it
An electrically assisted pedal cycle is capped at 250W and 15.5 mph. This is fourteen times the power and more than twice the speed, and it does not have pedals.
It belongs on your own property, or on land where the owner has given you permission. There is no version of riding this on a road or a pavement in the UK that is legal, and we would rather put that in the first two paragraphs than in the small print.
What three and a half kilowatts is for
Higher than ninety nine per cent of our catalogue. On private ground it buys capability rather than speed:
- Climbing a steep track from a standstill with a rider on
- Pulling through sand and mud without bogging down
- Carrying a heavier rider without the performance collapsing
- Acceleration that does not fade as the battery drops
A fourteen inch front wheel and a twelve inch rear
Different sizes front and rear, on off-road air tyres.
A bigger front wheel rolls over what it hits and steers more steadily at speed; a smaller rear keeps the drive compact and the deck low. It is a deliberate arrangement rather than a parts bin, and at 37 mph the front wheel is the one that matters.
Hydraulic brakes at both ends
Front and rear hydraulic. At this weight and this speed, nothing else would be adequate.
Bed them in properly before you use the power, and check them before every ride the way you would on a motorcycle. This machine is closer to one of those than to a bicycle.
Lights, indicators and a tail light
Headlights, turn signals and tail lights fitted from the factory.
On private ground with other people about, being seen turning is worth more than any other line on the sheet.
Forty to seventy kilometres, and the honest reason it is short
Twenty five miles in our table, which is shorter than ninety four per cent of our catalogue, from a 48 volt twenty three amp hour battery that is larger than most.
A big battery and a short range is not a contradiction: 3500 watts empties anything. The panel below does the arithmetic, and the number to plan around is the one at full power rather than the headline.

Plan a day of riding around one charge rather than two, because you will not get a second one inside an afternoon.
The load limit is the constraint
A hundred and twenty kilograms, 265 pounds, which is lower than ninety six per cent of our catalogue and is a rider limit on a machine that weighs 126 pounds itself.
Check it against your own weight before you order. It is the number people skip on a machine this powerful, and it is the one that decides whether it suits you.
Before the first ride
It arrives largely assembled and it is a two person unpack at fifty seven kilograms.
- Check every fastener on the stem and the folding mechanism before the first ride, and again after the first hour
- Bed the hydraulic brakes in at walking pace
- Check the indicator and light switches before dark
- Set tyre pressure on both wheels
- Charge to full before the first ride
Who should not buy it
Anyone without land. Anyone buying their first electric machine. Anyone over a hundred and twenty kilograms. Anyone who wants to leave it outside a shop.
Buy it if you have ground, you understand what 37 mph on twelve inch wheels asks of a rider, and you want the most capable machine in this part of our range. It is not a bicycle and it should not be bought as one.

- Can I return my electric bike?
- Yes. You can ride the bike and still return it. Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we book the courier and collect it from your door. Contact us first and we will guide you through the process.
- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
