Two eighteen hundred watt motors on a sixty volt system
The VIPCOO VS9 has an 1800W motor in each wheel on a 60 volt system with 26 amp hours of battery, at £989.
It reaches 40 mph and is not an electrically assisted pedal cycle, so we sell it for private use on private land. Please read the panel above before you order.
Where you can and cannot ride it
A privately owned electric scooter cannot legally be used on a public road, pavement or cycle path in the UK. That is true of every scooter sold anywhere, at any power, and it is not a question of how fast you go.
This one is sold for your own property, or land where the owner has given you permission. Forty miles an hour standing on a deck is closer to a motorcycle than to anything else we sell, and it should be treated that way.
Three thousand six hundred watts, and sixty volts behind it
Two motors of 1800 watts each. Higher power than ninety four per cent of our catalogue, on a 60 volt system where almost everything else runs 48.
- Traction from both ends on gravel, grass and mud
- Higher voltage means lower current, so less heat and less sag
- The front wheel pulls you through a rut rather than ploughing into it
- Half the load on each motor, so neither works as hard
Fifteen hundred and sixty watt hours
Sixty volts and twenty six amp hours, higher capacity than ninety four per cent of our catalogue, quoted at up to 90 km.
Six to seven hours to fill on the supplied 67.2 volt charger, which for a battery this size is quick. At 3600 watts the range figure falls away fast, and no maker prints the number for riding it hard.

Rocker arm suspension, front and rear
Spring shocks on rocker arms rather than telescoping forks.
A rocker arm moves through an arc, which keeps it working under braking where a cheap telescopic fork binds up and goes solid. On a machine that weighs a hundred and one pounds at 40 mph, that is the difference between the wheels staying on the ground and skipping across it.
Dual hydraulic discs plus electronic brakes
Hydraulic discs at both ends and electronic braking through both motors.
The electronic brakes take the everyday slowing and wear nothing; the hydraulics are there for the stop that matters. At this weight and this speed, having all four working together is the only sensible specification.
Lights on every surface
Dual headlights, turn signals, a brake light, ambient lighting on the stem and reflectors.
Indicators and a brake light on a machine this fast are what make you readable to anyone else on the ground rather than simply visible.
An iron frame, and a hundred and one pounds
Iron rather than aluminium, which is most of why it is heavier than ninety seven per cent of our catalogue.
Iron is heavy and it is also what survives being dropped, which a machine like this will be. It folds with a double safety lock, though at forty five kilograms folding is about getting it into a van rather than carrying it.
Before the first ride
It arrives largely assembled and folded. It is a two person unpack.

VIPCOO publish no water rating, and who should not buy it
Their sheet lists the waterproof class as not available, which is unusual and worth knowing: treat it as a machine to keep out of standing water and away from a hose until we can confirm otherwise. Ask us and we will chase it.
This is not for public roads and it is not a first machine. Buy it if you have land, you understand what 40 mph asks of a rider, and you want two motors with fifteen hundred watt hours behind them.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
