This Model Is Fully Compliant With UK Road Regulations
This bike is built to comply with UK Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle (EAPC) regulations, meaning it can be used on public roads and cycle paths without registration, tax, or a licence. Motor assistance is limited to 250W and cuts off at 15.5 mph (25 km/h).
See UK LegislationThis one carries 499 Wh of battery. The maker quotes 62 mi; in mixed riding with some hills, expect nearer 47 mi. A full charge costs about £0.14. Across a year that is roughly £985.00 less than making the same journeys by car, so the bike pays for itself in about 9 months. Everything here is worked out from this bike's own specification. Estimates, not promises: the assumptions are printed underneath.

Sixty-two miles from a small battery
The Varun S700-1 claims a longer range than two thirds of our catalogue, from a pack smaller than most of it. That comes from being light, on large wheels, with narrow tyres and nothing to drag.
It is road legal at 250W: no licence, no tax, no insurance, nothing to register.

Twenty-eight inch wheels roll further for the same push
Large wheels and narrow tyres are the efficient combination on tarmac: low rolling resistance, speed held for the same effort, and a calmer ride at pace.
That efficiency is where the range comes from. It is not a bigger battery, it is a bike that needs less out of the one it has.

Light, which you notice every day
Fifty-seven pounds is below the middle of our range, and weight is the specification people compare last and feel first: wheeling it through a door, lifting it onto a rack, or pedalling it home with a flat battery.
Nothing about a heavy bike gets better after you have bought it.

Aluminium, so it will not rust
An aluminium alloy frame on a city bike that will live outside, in a rack or under a cover, through a British winter.
Steel is tougher and cheaper to repair; aluminium is lighter and does not corrode. For a commuter left in the weather, this is the right one.

The motor flattens hills, you still ride
Two hundred and fifty watts on a light bike goes further than the same motor on a heavy one, because there is less to move.
It takes the sting out of a climb and shortens a headwind, and assistance stops at the legal limit, where the gearing takes over.

It carries more than half our range
Despite the light frame, the rated payload is above the middle of the catalogue. A rider plus a loaded pannier sits comfortably inside it.
Check the figure in the table below against your own weight and what you carry.

Disc brakes, cable-operated
Front and rear discs, which hold their stopping power when the wheels are wet where rim brakes do not.
They are mechanical rather than hydraulic, so one Allen key adjusts them and a set of pads costs a few pounds at any shop.

Five hours on charge
An evening from empty, which suits a bike that will be plugged in when you get home rather than planned around.
The panel below works out what a charge costs. On a battery this small, it is barely measurable.

What to do before the first ride
It arrives largely assembled.
- Fit the front wheel, handlebar and pedals
- Set the saddle so your leg is nearly straight at full extension
- Check both brakes and the tyre pressure
- Charge it to full once before commuting on it

A small battery and narrow tyres
The efficiency is real and the capacity is genuinely low. Cold weather, a headwind or a steep route will cut the range hard, and there is no larger pack to fit. The bands in the table below are the honest version of the sixty-two mile claim.
Narrow tyres and no suspension also make this a road bike. Take it down a rutted bridleway and you will wish you were on something else. On tarmac and well-kept paths it is one of the more efficient bikes we stock.

- How do I choose the right electric bike for me?
- Pick a bike based on how you plan to ride. City bikes are great for commuting, folding bikes work well if you need compact storage, mountain bikes handle hills and mixed terrain, and cargo bikes are ideal for carrying shopping or loads. If you are not sure, our Bike Quiz can help.
- Are the batteries original and certified?
- Yes. Every electric bike battery is brand new and original from the manufacturer, with full safety certification and performance testing.

- Yes. All electric bikes from BikTron include a manufacturer warranty. Duration depends on the brand and model. Most bikes include a 12-month warranty as standard.
- How long does delivery take?
- Standard UK delivery usually takes 2 to 7 business days. Remote areas may take a little longer. You will receive a tracking link by email once your order is dispatched.
- Which payment methods do you accept?
- We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna buy-now-pay-later. All payments are processed securely.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
