A 66.8 degree head angle, and a fork with compression and rebound
The Himiway C5 Ultra is built like a small motorbike: a slack front end, a 140 mm adjustable coil fork, LG cells and 86 Nm, at £2,239.
Road legal at 250W: no licence, no tax, no insurance, nothing to register.
The head angle is the whole character of it
Sixty six point eight degrees. A commuter bike is around seventy one, a road bike steeper still.
Slacker means the front wheel sits further out in front of you. The bike is calmer at speed, more stable on loose ground, and less inclined to tuck under when you hit something. It also turns more slowly, which is the trade you accept for the rest.
A fork you can actually set up
A KKE R150S coil fork with 140 mm of travel, adjustable for both compression and rebound.
Compression is how easily it moves; rebound is how fast it comes back. Most bikes at any price in our catalogue give you neither adjustment, and a fork set wrong for your weight either rides like a pogo stick or like a rigid one.
Read the 330 pound figure carefully
Himiway state a maximum system weight of 330 lbs, not a payload of 330 lbs. The bike weighs 88 lbs, so what is left for a rider and their luggage is about 242 lbs.
Our table repeats their figure, so we are saying plainly here what the table cannot: it is a total, not an allowance. It is the most misread number on any bike sheet.
Eighty six newton metres, and three sensors
A brushless geared motor rather than a direct drive one, with torque, speed and brake sensors.

Tektro hydraulics on 180 mm rotors
Named brakes at both ends with 180 mm discs, rather than a house brand caliper.
On an eighty eight pound machine with a slack front end, the brakes are what you notice going down. Tektro is a maker any shop stocks pads for.
Twelve gauge spokes and Kenda tyres
Twelve gauge spokes, which are thicker than the usual thirteen, on 36 hole rims with Kenda 20 by 4 inch tyres made for Himiway.
Spoke gauge is the detail behind a weight rating. A bike built to be ridden hard on loose ground needs the wheels to be the strong part, not the weak one.

It arrives largely assembled and at eighty eight pounds it is a two person unpack.

Who it is for
Himiway size it for riders between 162 cm and 190 cm, and the saddle barely moves: 80.7 to 83.8 cm. That is a fixed riding position rather than an adjustable one, which is another way this is more motorbike than bicycle.
Buy it if you want that riding position and that stability, inside the law, and you have somewhere at ground level to keep eighty eight pounds. If you want a bike you adjust and carry, this is not it and we list plenty that are.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
