Folded in about three seconds, and DYU stands behind it
DYU states the A5 folds in roughly three seconds.
That is the difference between a bike you fold at the station every day and one you fold twice and then stop bothering. Folded it is 73 × 33 × 65 cm; unfolded, 127.5 × 52 × 100 cm.
A very small battery, and that is the trade
Seven and a half amp hours: the smallest capacity in this catalogue.
DYU claims up to 60 km assisted and our table carries 28 miles. Their own FAQ adds that real range varies with rider weight, terrain, weather and assist level, which is more honesty than most sheets offer. The panel below turns the capacity into energy per mile.
A small battery has its own advantages
Four to five hours for a full charge, and it is removable.
A pack this size goes up to a flat without a thought, which is exactly what a folding bike needs when there is no socket in the garage.
IP54, a stated temperature range, and a 15-degree climb
Protected against dust and splashing water, with an operating range of -10 to 45 °C published.
The temperature range is a row almost nobody prints, and it matters for a battery: below freezing a lithium pack gives less than its rated capacity. Fifteen degrees of gradient is modest, so this is a bike for flat ground.
DYU's sheet disagrees with itself about the voltage
The battery row says 36V. The motor row, two lines down, says 48V, and DYU's own FAQ describes a 48V pack.
Both cannot be right and we would rather tell you than quietly pick the more flattering one. Our table carries 36V, the cautious reading. Write to us before you order if this decides your purchase and we will have DYU settle it.
Before the first ride, and who it is for

- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
