A chromoly frame, dual suspension and a thousand watts
The YVY C20 Lite puts 1000W on a chromoly steel frame with suspension at both ends and a removable 15 amp hour battery, at £789.
At that power and 20 mph it sits outside the UK road rules, so we sell it for private use on private land. Please read the panel above before you order.
Where you can and cannot ride it
An electrically assisted pedal cycle is capped at 250W continuous and 15.5 mph of assistance. This is four times the power.
It belongs on your own property, or on land where the owner has given you permission. On a road or a cycle path it would need registration, tax, insurance and a licence.
Chromoly steel, which is the interesting choice here
Chromium molybdenum: the alloy frame builders use when they want steel strong enough to be made thin.
Stronger than plain steel, far more forgiving than aluminium, and it can be welded and repaired by any workshop. On a machine that will be ridden over rough ground and dropped occasionally, that matters more than saving a kilogram.
Three modes, and one of them is no motor at all
YVY list electric mode, pedal assist mode and bike mode.

Bike mode is the one people forget about, and it is why the gears are worth having: with a flat battery this still gets you home.
Thirty five miles on the motor, fifty pedalling
YVY publish both, from a removable 48 volt fifteen amp hour pack, and their specification sheet quotes 60 miles elsewhere.
Our table carries 35, the conservative figure and the one measured on the motor alone. That is the number to plan around if you intend to use the thousand watts rather than your legs.

Suspension at both ends
A front fork and a rear shock, on 20 by 4 inch all-terrain fat tyres.
Four inches of tyre run soft plus damping at both ends is what keeps a heavy machine controllable on ground that is not flat. On a twenty inch wheel it matters more than on a big one, because a small wheel drops into what a large one rolls over.
Four to six hours, and the pack comes off
Removable, so it charges on a kitchen worktop rather than requiring the machine to be parked next to a socket.
Four to six hours is an evening rather than an overnight. Top it up rather than running it flat if you want the pack healthy past its second winter.
Before the first ride
It arrives largely assembled, with an LCD showing speed, distance and battery level.

The brakes are the compromise, and the weight is not published
Dual disc brakes, cable operated rather than hydraulic, on a machine with a thousand watts. They work and any shop can service them, but at 20 mph on a heavy fat bike, hydraulics would be the first upgrade worth making.
YVY also publish no weight and no torque figure, so the table below leaves both rows out rather than inventing them. Ask us before you order and we will chase the supplier.
Who it is for
Someone with land who wants real capability on a frame that can be repaired rather than replaced, and who values being able to ride it home with the battery flat.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
