Not for public roads, pavements or cycle paths. Its motor and assisted top speed are above the UK EAPC limits of 250W and 15.5 mph, which makes it a motor vehicle in law. It would need registration, insurance and a licence. Ride it on private land.
See UK LegislationThis one carries 960 Wh of battery. The maker quotes 65 mi; in mixed riding with some hills, expect nearer 49 mi. A full charge costs about £0.27. Across a year that is roughly £981.00 less than making the same journeys by car, so the bike pays for itself in about 10 months. Everything here is worked out from this bike's own specification. Estimates, not promises: the assumptions are printed underneath.

A small machine with a large motor
The YVY C16 puts a 1500W motor and 85 Nm on 16 inch fat tyres, in a frame only 60 inches long and 64 lbs in weight.
That is six times the UK limit for an electric bicycle, so we sell it for private land only and for adult riders: ground you own, or ground where the owner has given you permission. Please read the panel above before you order.

What the motor does on small wheels
Small wheels give the motor more leverage, which is why a machine this size can claim a 35 degree climb. It also means the front lifts more readily than on a 20 inch bike, so learn the throttle slowly.
YVY's photographs state 20 mph and the written description says 28. Our table carries the photographs' figure. Neither is near the 15.5 mph the law allows on a public road, so the answer does not change where you may ride it.

A removable pack, and three different range figures
A 48V 20Ah battery that comes off for charging, in four to six hours from a 3A charger.
YVY publish 35 to 65 miles on the photographs, 30 to 50 in the specification and up to 75 in one line of the description. We print 65 as the top of the claim, and the panel below works down from it. Plan around the lower end if you intend to use the throttle.

Suspension at both ends
A fork at the front and a rear shock, which on a wheel this small do most of the work that a larger wheel would do on its own.
The brakes are mechanical discs rather than hydraulic. Any workshop can service them, and they need adjusting more often. On a machine with this much power, check them before each session rather than after.

Four inches of tyre on sixteen inch wheels
Run soft, they make sand, snow, gravel and wet grass ordinary rather than a fight, and a low centre of gravity makes the machine easy to manage at walking pace.
Tight turns are where it is most at home. Long fast straights are where a short wheelbase asks most of the rider.

Check the size before you order
This is the one thing to ask us about. YVY's size chart recommends riders of 4 ft 5 in to 5 ft 2 in, and their written answer says 5 ft 2 in to 6 ft. Both give the same 330 lbs load limit.
Tell us your height and inside leg and we will put the question to the brand before you pay. A small machine is not a child's machine: with this motor we sell it for adults only.

Lights, and what they are for
A headlight and a brake light, both built in, so you can be seen on your own land at dusk.
They do not make it a road vehicle. It has no registration, tax or insurance, and it may not be ridden on a road, a pavement or a cycle path.

The display and the three modes
An LCD shows speed, distance and battery level, and you choose between the throttle, pedal assist and pedals alone.
- Throttle: the motor does the work
- Pedal assist: the motor helps what you are already doing
- Bike mode: motor off, for the ride home on a flat battery

Seven gears, and what is in the box
A Shimano seven speed on the right grip, with a phone holder up to 7.2 inches and a storage box of 22 by 14 by 11 cm.
It arrives about 90 percent assembled. Fit the handlebar and pedals, bed the discs in at walking pace, set the tyres soft for loose ground and charge it to full before the first session.

The YVY C16 1500W Fat Tire Electric Bike states 1500W, 65 Miles and 20 Mph, and below it is set against the YVY C20 Pro 2000W Fat Tire Electric Bike. Every figure the two disagree on is marked. Choose a different bike to compare it with whichever one you are also considering.

9 of 12 specifications differ. View YVY C20 Pro 2000W Fat Tire Electric Bike
- How powerful is the YVY C16?
- It has a 1500W brushless motor with 85 Nm of torque, on 16 by 4 inch fat tyres.
- How far does the YVY C16 go on a charge?
- YVY's figures vary between 30 and 75 miles depending on where you read them. Their photographs say 35 to 65 miles from the 48V 20Ah battery, and the throttle will land you near the lower end.
- Can I ride the YVY C16 on the road?
- No. At 1500W it is not an electrically assisted pedal cycle in the UK. We sell it for private land only, and for adult riders.
- What size rider does the YVY C16 suit?
- YVY give two answers: 4 ft 5 in to 5 ft 2 in on the size chart and 5 ft 2 in to 6 ft in the text. The load limit is 330 lbs. Ask us before you order and we will check with the brand.
- Are the electric bikes brand new?
- Yes. All electric bikes sold by BikTron are brand new, factory-sealed, and sourced directly from authorised manufacturers and official distributors.
- How do I choose the right electric bike for me?
- Pick a bike based on how you plan to ride. City bikes are great for commuting, folding bikes work well if you need compact storage, mountain bikes handle hills and mixed terrain, and cargo bikes are ideal for carrying shopping or loads. If you are not sure, our Bike Quiz can help.
- Are the batteries original and certified?
- Yes. Every electric bike battery is brand new and original from the manufacturer, with full safety certification and performance testing.
- Are the bikes tested before shipping?
- Yes. Each e-bike goes through a quality check before dispatch, covering electronics, brakes, motor response, and battery performance.
- Do electric bikes come with a warranty?
- Yes. All electric bikes from BikTron include a manufacturer warranty. Duration depends on the brand and model. Most bikes include a 12-month warranty as standard.
- How long does delivery take?
- Standard UK delivery usually takes 2 to 7 business days. Remote areas may take a little longer. You will receive a tracking link by email once your order is dispatched.
- Which payment methods do you accept?
- We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna buy-now-pay-later. All payments are processed securely.
- Can I return my electric bike?
- Yes. You can ride the bike and still return it. Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we book the courier and collect it from your door. Contact us first and we will guide you through the process.
- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
