Two motors, two batteries, and forty amp hours
The Ridstar Q20 Pro has a 1000W motor in each wheel, two batteries totalling 40Ah, and a chromoly steel frame, at £1,219.
At 2000W and 37 mph it is far outside the UK road rules, so we sell it for private use on private land. Please read the panel above before you order.
Where you can and cannot ride it
An electrically assisted pedal cycle is capped at 250W continuous and 15.5 mph of assistance. This is eight times the power and more than twice the speed.
It belongs on your own property, or on land where the owner has given you permission. On a road or a cycle path it would need registration, tax, insurance and a licence.
A motor in each wheel is all wheel drive
A thousand watts at the front and a thousand at the back.
- Traction from both ends on sand, snow and wet grass
- The front wheel pulls you through a rut instead of ploughing into it
- Climbing where a single rear motor would spin
- And half the load on each motor, so neither is working as hard
Two motors on loose ground is a different machine from one motor twice as strong.
Two batteries, and two chargers in the box
Fifty two volts and forty amp hours across two packs, higher capacity than ninety nine per cent of our catalogue, with a charger for each.
Two chargers means both fill at once rather than one after the other, which on this much capacity is the difference between overnight and a day and a half.

Chromoly steel, not aluminium
Chromium molybdenum steel: the alloy frame builders use when they want steel that is strong enough to be made thin.
Stronger than plain steel, more forgiving than aluminium, and it can be welded and repaired by any workshop. On a ninety nine pound machine with two motors pulling at it, that matters more than saving a kilogram.
Seventy five miles, and where that comes from
Ridstar quote 75 miles on the motors alone and up to 180 with pedalling. Seventy five is longer than eighty five per cent of our catalogue and it is a figure only forty amp hours makes possible.
Ridden at 37 mph it will be a great deal less, and no manufacturer prints that number.
Suspension at both ends, hydraulic brakes at both ends
Front and rear suspension with hydraulic discs.
At this weight and this speed on twenty inch wheels, hydraulics are not an upgrade. Bed them in properly before you use the power, and check them before every ride the way you would on a motorcycle.
Ninety nine pounds
Forty five kilograms, heavier than ninety six per cent of our catalogue, and that is before you consider that it ships at 55 kg in its box.
It is a two person unpack and a machine you wheel rather than carry. A ground floor space with a socket is what it needs.
Before the first ride
It arrives largely assembled with both batteries, both chargers and mudguards.

The load rating is not published, and who should not buy it
Ridstar do not state a maximum load for this model, so the table below leaves that row out rather than filling it in. Ask us before you order and we will chase it.
It is not for public roads, and it is not a first electric machine. Two thousand watts on twenty inch wheels asks for a rider who already knows what that feels like.
Buy it if you have land and want genuine all wheel drive capability with the range to use it all day. Nothing else in our catalogue offers two motors and two batteries at this money.

- Can I return my electric bike?
- Yes. You can ride the bike and still return it. Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we book the courier and collect it from your door. Contact us first and we will guide you through the process.
- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
