The ADO Air 28 is a step-through single-speed with a torque sensor on 28-inch wheels, at £1,229.

Where you may ride it, and where you may not
In the UK an electric bicycle is capped at 250W. This one is rated at twice that, even though its assistance is set to cut at 25 km/h.
It is the rated power that puts it outside the category, not the speed. It is sold for your own land, or land whose owner has given you permission.
ADO publishes marked power and peak power, and they are the same

A torque sensor on a single-speed bike
A cadence sensor reads whether you are pedalling. A torque sensor reads how hard.
On a bike with one gear that matters more than usual: the motor is what covers the range a gearbox would, and it can only do that if it follows your effort rather than switching in as a block.
A seventy-two centimetre standover on a 28-inch bike
Big wheels usually mean a high frame. ADO keeps the step-through at 72 cm.
The saddle adjusts from 85 to 110 cm, which is 25 cm of travel, and ADO sizes the bike for riders of 160 to 210 cm. That is a tall range, so check it against your own height before you order.
Sixty-two miles from a 9.6Ah pack
ADO claims up to 100 km, and our table carries 62 miles.
That is a small battery on a bike weighing only 22 kg with everything fitted. Thirty-seven newton metres of torque, four to six hours to charge, an IPS colour display and an adjustable fork.
Hydraulic brakes, and one line in ADO's sheet is a typo
Hydraulic discs front and rear, on 28-inch wheels.
ADO's tyre row reads "28 × 18 inch", which does not describe a tyre that exists. It is almost certainly 28 × 1.8, and we have left the size out of our table rather than repeat a figure that cannot be right. Ask us and we will have ADO confirm it.

- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
