Carbon fibre, and what it does beyond the weight
Carbon is the material of racing frames, chosen for its weight and for the way it absorbs vibration that metal passes straight through.
On 20 × 1.75 inch tyres with no suspension, that damping is doing real work. Carbon also does not rust, by definition.
GPS, geofencing and movement detection
ADO lists anti-theft GPS, Smart Connect, movement detection and geofencing alerts through their app.
Movement detection tells you the bike has been picked up; geofencing tells you it has left an area you drew. On a fourteen-kilogramme bike that one person can carry away, those are the right features to have.
A Bafang motor, a carbon belt, and one gear
ADO names the motor maker rather than writing "brushless" and stopping, and there is no chain at all.
Single speed, torque sensor, 35 Nm, and a 20-degree climbing limit published. Nothing to shift, nothing to oil, nothing to adjust: on a bike this light that simplicity is the design rather than a saving.
An E-Mark headlight and an IPX7 display
An E-Mark means the lamp passed European type approval rather than simply being bright.
The 2.4-inch IPS display is rated IPX7, meaning immersion rather than rain, while the bike is IPX5. Hydraulic disc brakes, an electric taillight, SGS CE certified.
Before the first ride, and who it is for
ADO sizes it for riders of 155 to 190 cm. Payload is 265 lbs, which on a 32 lb bike is the line to check against your own weight. Claimed range is 100 km from a 36V 9.6Ah pack.

- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
