ADO names the battery maker
DMEGC, rather than "lithium-ion" and nothing further.
Thirty-six volts at 9.6 amp hours, with a claimed 100 km and four to six hours to charge. A named cell maker is a checkable fact, and very few sheets in this catalogue offer one.
A headlight that switches itself on
ADO fits an automatic sensor headlight and an electric taillight.
The light comes on when the light level drops, which means it is on in a tunnel and under trees and at dusk, when you would not have thought to reach for it. That is worth more than a brighter lamp you forget to use.
A carbon belt and puncture-proof tyres
Two maintenance items removed at once.
The belt needs no oil and outlasts a chain by a long way; the tyres are the type that resists a puncture rather than the type you patch. On a bike ridden to work every day that is the difference between a commute and a chore.
IPX5 on the bike, IPX7 on the display
ADO rates the two separately and the display gets the higher number.
IPX7 means immersion rather than rain. It is a 3.5-inch IPS colour unit, works with the ADO Smart app, and the fork is an adjustable suspension unit. There is no throttle, which ADO states plainly.
Before the first ride, and who it is for
ADO sizes it for riders of 160 to 210 cm, which is tall. Payload is 265 lbs. Net 21 kg, 23 kg with accessories. ADO's tyre row reads "28 × 18 inch", which does not describe a real tyre, so we have left the size out of our table rather than repeat it.

- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
