Where you may ride it, and where you may not
In the UK, privately owned electric scooters may not be used on public roads, pavements or cycle paths. Only rental scooters in government trial areas may, and this is not one.
That restriction is on the vehicle type, not on the specification, so it applies even though every one of this scooter's three speed modes tops out at the 15.5 mph an electric bicycle is allowed. It is sold for your own land, or land whose owner has given you permission.
Three modes, and none of them is fast
Ten, fifteen and twenty-five kilometres an hour.

- The highest is the same limit a legal electric bike is held to
- It is a machine built for control rather than for speed
KOOLUX publishes what the BMS actually protects against
Temperature, short circuit, under-voltage, over-voltage and overcurrent, listed one by one.
Almost every sheet in this catalogue says "BMS" and stops, or says nothing at all. Naming the protections is the difference between a component and a claim. The pack is 48V 15.6Ah.
KOOLUX is honest about the terrain
The sheet states plainly: flat cement or asphalt roads.
Ten-inch vacuum tyres and a 19-degree climbing limit back that up. This is not a machine for a field or a gravel track, and the maker says so rather than letting you find out. Thirty-seven miles claimed, tested with a 70 kg load.
Disc brakes at both ends, and an IPX4 rating
Front and rear discs rather than a drum and a motor brake.
IPX4 covers splashing water, not a jet wash or standing water. Seven to eight hours to charge on a 2A charger, and KOOLUX puts the minimum age at 16.
Before the first ride, and who it is for
It folds to 125 × 22.5 × 46 cm and weighs 73 lbs, so it is a two-handed lift. Payload is 265 lbs. No frame material or torque figure is published and both rows stay empty below.

- Bed both disc brakes in at walking pace and learn your stopping distance

- Can I return my electric bike?
- Yes. You can ride the bike and still return it. Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we book the courier and collect it from your door. Contact us first and we will guide you through the process.
- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
