The maker states this one against CE EN 1078, the European standard for pedal cycle helmets, and states it on the page rather than leaving it to be assumed. That is the single most useful line on the listing.
An in-mould polycarbonate shell over an EPS core, 260 g on the scales, twenty-six vents, a rear dial for the fit and a visor that snaps on and off without tools.
What EN 1078 actually covers, and what it does not
It is worth knowing what you are buying, because the number is often quoted and rarely explained.
- A drop test onto a flat and a kerb-shaped anvil, from a set height
- A test that the straps hold and do not stretch past a limit
- A test that the helmet cannot be rolled off the head forwards or backwards
- A field of vision requirement, so the shell does not blind you sideways
It is the standard for pedal cycles and EAPCs, which is what our UK bikes are. It is not a motorcycle standard, and it is not the higher speed-pedelec standard, NTA 8776. If you ride one of our restricted machines on private land at 45 km/h, this is not the helmet for that.
In-mould, and why 260 grams matters
In-mould means the shell and the foam are bonded in one operation instead of glued together afterwards. It saves weight and it stops the shell peeling away from the foam over a few seasons in the sun.
Two hundred and sixty grams is light enough that you stop noticing it about ten minutes into a ride, which is the real safety argument for a light helmet: the one you forget you are wearing is the one you keep wearing.
The visor is a real choice, not a decoration
On means low sun out of your eyes, and grit and spray off a wet road kept off your face. Off means a cleaner profile and slightly less buffeting at speed, and nothing above your eyeline when you are head-down into a headwind.
It snaps in place with a press, so you can make that decision in the car park rather than in a shop.
The size on the page is stated twice, differently
The listing calls it size L, 58 to 60 cm, in one row, and gives the dial range as 59 to 61 cm in a bullet. Those two do not agree, so our table prints both rather than picking one.
Measure around your head a centimetre above the eyebrows. If you land on 59 or 60 cm, both figures cover you and it will fit. If you are on 58 or 61, write to us first and we will measure the shell before we send one.
Living with it, and when to bin it
The pads come out and go in a washing machine, which is the difference between a helmet that lasts three summers and one that you stop putting on.
The EPS core works by crushing, once. Replace it after any crash involving your head, even if the outside looks untouched, and replace one you have dropped hard onto concrete. The maker backs it for a year; the foam sets its own limit the first time it does its job.

- How long does delivery take?
- Standard UK delivery usually takes 2 to 7 business days. Remote areas may take a little longer. You will receive a tracking link by email once your order is dispatched.
- Which payment methods do you accept?
- We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna buy-now-pay-later. All payments are processed securely.
- Can I return my electric bike?
- Yes. You can ride the bike and still return it. Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we book the courier and collect it from your door. Contact us first and we will guide you through the process.
- Do the bikes need assembly?
- Most electric bikes arrive 85 to 90 per cent pre-assembled. You will usually need to attach the handlebars, pedals, and adjust the seat. A basic tool set is often included.
- Are BikTron electric bikes legal to ride in the UK?
- Yes. All bikes sold by BikTron that meet UK EAPC rules (250W motor, max 15.5 mph assisted speed, pedal-assisted only) are fully road-legal. You do not need a licence, tax, or insurance to ride them on public roads. Riders must be at least 14 years old.
- What about the electric scooters?
- Those are different, and the law treats them differently. A privately owned e-scooter cannot legally be ridden on a public road, pavement or cycle lane in the UK, whoever sold it. We sell ours for private land use only, with the landowner's permission, and every scooter product page says so. If you want something you can ride to work, choose an electric bike.
